Eco-Luxe Tote: A Tribute to UAE's Spirit

A Visual Homage to Dubai’s Landscape: Designed the second edition of the Waitrose x NUAIMI eco-luxe reusable bag for UAE’s 51st National Day, blending sustainability with style. The artwork was inspired by the breathtaking view of Dubai’s skyline from the desert, capturing the harmony between modern architecture and the timeless beauty of the dunes. The illustration celebrates Emirati traditions, featuring a whimsical scene of hot air balloons soaring above iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and Museum of the Future, while a family enjoys a picnic amidst the golden sands. Each element was thoughtfully sketched to reflect the rich cultural essence of the UAE.
A Fresh and Engaging Design Approach
Since this tote was designed for Waitrose & Partners UAE, we wanted the illustration to feel vibrant, engaging, and approachable for everyday use. The composition balances intricate details with a playful, artistic style, making it both a fashion-forward accessory and a sustainable shopping essential. The storytelling within the artwork brings to life the Emirati spirit of adventure, tradition, and appreciation for nature.
Dual Colorways for Versatility: To enhance the bag’s appeal, we created two distinct color versions—one in monotone blue, evoking a refined and understated aesthetic, and another in a bright, colorful palette, bringing energy and liveliness to the design. This dual approach ensured that the tote could cater to different customer preferences while still aligning with Waitrose’s commitment to sustainability and style.
